Personal Credit Repair
Are you applying for credit and being refused? You are not alone! Across the UK each year millions of people attempt to obtain Loans, Credit Cards, Store Cards, mortgages, mobile phones, car loans etc and are turned down. Whilst the reasons people are declined for loans or other types of credit are many and varied, the overwhelming majority of lenders will access your credit file as part of assessing your credit worthiness for a loan. The information held about you by the Credit Reference Agencies can often be the reason for you being declined - in simple terms "A poor Credit Rating". If your credit file shows any of the following your credit rating is almost certain to be adversely affected and will in most cases result in you being refused further credit:-
The natural instinct of most people when a loan application is declined is to apply for credit elsewhere. Perfectly logical but often fatal in terms of the effect on your credit worthiness. Repeated applications for credit will only serve to worsen your situation as the majority of institutions will run credit checks on you before granting credit and every search will register on your credit file. The mere presence of several searches over a relatively short period will have an adverse effect on your credit worthiness. Generally speaking, credit information, including CCJ's and Defaults remain on credit files for a MINIMUM OF 6 YEARS regardless of whether the debt has been paid off or not. In fact that is 6 years from the date of the last transaction on a particular account. So, if you took out a loan in 1999 and defaulted on it in 2000 but continued to pay a little each month with the last payment in 2004, that 9 year old default would still be showing on your file in 2009. Other members of your family with adverse history at your address may affect your credit file or influence someone negatively when assessing you. Out of date information on your file or incorrect information may prevent you from obtaining credit. What can Turner Little do for you?The most important thing to understand about the credit reference agencies is that any information which they hold about you must be accurate and this will be our focus in assisting you. We take prompt and effective action to analyse, identify and then, wherever possible, remove or amend harmful information held on your file by the credit reference agencies in cases where information has been incorrectly recorded or the matter to which the information relates has been discharged. Where information cannot be removed or significantly altered, we can as a minimum, add an explanation to your file as to why an entry arose in the first place. This can in some cases influence an underwriter beneficially in assessing you for credit though it is important that you be aware that Credit Repair is not a magic wand and in no way can it be guaranteed that you will be any better off in terms of applying for credit after repair than you were before. What does the Credit Repair Process entail?Stage 1 - We will obtain a copy of any credit file held about you by the major credit reference agencies. (please see footnote) Stage 2 - We will carry out an analysis of your credit file and let you have a detailed EASY TO UNDERSTAND analysis which will identify the negative entries on your file which are causing or likely to cause you a problem in obtaining credit. Stage 3 - We will discuss with you the specific negative items identified in stage 2 so that we can establish and agree what action can be taken to remove or amend those damaging items. At this stage we will tell you precisely what can and also what cannot be done to improve your credit file and make it accurate. We will not be able to remove information that has been properly recorded or where the matter is undischarged. Stage 4 - We proceed to take the action agreed as a consequence of our discussions in stage 3. Stage 5 - We provide you with a detailed copy and analysis of your 'Repaired' credit file together with a full explanation of its contents. How long does it take? The initial process (stages 1 to 3) can usually be completed within two to three weeks. Stage 4 can take anywhere from two to six weeks depending upon complexity. Stage 5 takes two to three weeks from completion of stage 4). What are the costs?Stages 1, 2 and 3 are at a fixed cost of £85.00 plus VAT Stage 4 cost will depend upon the content of your file and the work necessary but £ As a guide you could calculate the cost of this stage at 19.00 +VAT per item for all items amended or removed up to a maximum of 8 items If there are more than eight items the cost for this stage is capped at 8 charges (i.e. 8 x £19 + VAT in other words £152.00 plus VAT). The capping of charges does not include linked addresses requiring individual searches or fraud related entries. The actual figure which will apply at Stage 4 will always be notified to you in advance and there is no obligation on your part to have the work done. Stage 5 FREE of CHARGE From this you can see that the normal MAXIMUM cost which you can incur is £237.00 plus VAT with the MINIMUM cost being £85.00 plus VAT. This assumes that no further addresses require searching on or fraud entries require attention. The initial cost of £85.00 plus VAT is NOT refundable unless you subsequently cancel your order.
